Tech Discussion – Jordan’s new phone:
AT&T reception is so terrible for Jordan’s company iPhone – that he’s added a second phone (Verizon flip-phone) to his personal tech arsenal. He is now even more of a geek than he was before…. if that’s even possible.
Tech News:

- New rumors say the iPhone is coming to Verizon on a new faster 4G network – Source FoneFrenzy
- Is Hulu going to charge? if so – what are we willing to pay? Source BroadcastingCable
Caller Question – David – Downloads and bandwidth:
David wants to know how multiple downloads affect his bandwidth. Jake explains that if your total bandwidth is say – 2mbps – and you have two downloads running – each download will be allocated half of your total bandwidth. As you increase the amount of computers on your network, or increase the number of files, your total bandwidth will be divided amongst the internet connections.
Tech Tip – 7 Things to know before you upgrade to Windows 7:
Jordan and Jake run through a helpful Wired Magazine list which details the ins and outs of the Windows 7 upgrade process. Jordan recommends using the Windows 7 hardware compatibility checker before you buy an upgrade copy.
Tech Review – Click Free C2 Backup Hard Drive:
Jordan has another Click Free product review this week. Click Free is a company that specializes in hard drives that automatically backup your data without requiring any clicks (hence the name). These devices are great idiot-proof backup tools but are meant mostly for non-hardcore tech users (if you want to manually backup data – stick with a generic external drive). The latest product from Click Free is the C2 – which comes in a variety of capacities (up to 500gb) and includes several software improvements, as well as a docking station for convenient desktop placement. At a somewhat more pricey $189 for the 500gb and $139 for the 250gb – these devices are worth getting for the family member who doesn’t want to worry about backing up – but should pretty much stay connect to their machine – not the average geek’s.
Tech Discussion – Apple’s new product lineup:
Jordan and Jake discuss the recent updates to Apple’s computer product line. The new 27″ iMacs – and the cheaper MacBook.
Tech Review – Amazon Kindle:
Jordan has been spending some quality reading time with the Amazon Kindle – and has some preliminary results to share. The first major pro for the device is the delightful E-Ink reading experience. With no pages to turn, a great viewing angle, and a super lightweight form factor – the basic reading functionality is superb. What is lacking is the interface design of the Kindle – a con that is not overwhelming… but considerable. Jordan will finish his review next week.
