- Jordan and Jake give their thoughts on the new iPod Shuffle – it features a new speech function, but its lack of independent controls means it can only be used with Apple’s earbuds
- New Google Voice service provides users with one number for all their phones and forwards their voicemails to their email account Source – Google

Special Guest – Jordan’s Brother, Jonathan, talks about using Twitter as a business tool:
Jonathan Drake, who manufactures hand-carved tobacco pipes, recently began using Twitter to promote his business. He loves the way he can search through other user’s tweets for keywords like “pipe” or “tobacco”, allowing him to spread awareness of his products to his specific target audience. Twitter seems to be a marketing tool that can be useful for almost any type of business. Be sure to check out his work at PipesByDesign.wordpress.com or follow him on Twitter.
Tech Discussion – Great New iTunes Features:
Jake talks about the new Genius feature, which allows you to make playlists based on the musical attributes of one song. It finds a group of other songs in your library which have similar qualities and makes a playlist that you can save. It also comes in handy for creating playlists on the go with your iPod; just hit a button and Genius does the rest.
Jordan finds that the new iTunes DJ feature also has some very interesting uses: it allows anyone at a party with an iPhone or iPod Touch to request and rate songs being played through any computer using iTunes. Tech savvy party-goers can also check out the DJ’s Genius recommendations to find similar songs.
Tech Review – Jabra SP700 Bluetooth Speakerphone:
Jake has been using the SP700 in his car and has nothing but good things to say about the device. It automatically connects with your Bluetooth device once you enter your car, has an FM transmitter for broadcasting phone calls right through your car’s speaker system, and the sound quality is great on both ends. The SP700 is available for about $100 online through Jabra.
Special Guest Tech Review – Justin Drake – Jabra BT530:
Justin, who is also Jordan’s brother, recently went on a long trip and needed to make a lot of phone calls along the way; the BT530 met his needs with decent noise reduction, easy-to-use buttons, and voice command functionality. He was unimpressed with the mediocre sound quality and found the earpiece to be uncomfortable even though it came with many different options. Jordan also tried this product out and gives it about a 3 out of 5. It runs for about $75 on NewEgg.com.
Tech Review – WowWee Wrex the Dawg:
Wrex the dog is the new robot toy from WowWee; Jordan and Jake are convinced that kids are going to love it. The robot utilizes a controller or can be set to “leash off” mode where it roams freely. It has 9 motors, 16 eye icon combinations, and multiple personality modes: happy, angry, or crazy. The only downside is that nature calls a little too frequently, but overall, the guys agree that this is a great gift for kids between 3 and 10 years old. It’s available from Amazon for around $109.
Highlights From Season One of Digital Life Radio:
Jordan and Jake look back at each of their favorite news stories from this first season. Then they both count down their top 3 favorite items reviewed on the show.
Jordan and Jake Announce the Winners of DLR’s Giveaway:
Congratulations to: Jonathan Kelly, winner of the Jabra SP700; Joel Sterrit, who got the Jabra BT530; and Eric Herman, who came away with WowWee’s Wrex the Dawg.
