Our debut show – who are we?:
Our hosts introduce themselves to the audience. Both Jordan and Jake have a tech repair background, Jordan is the hardware and software guru and Jake brings a thorough knowledge of Web 2.0, video games, movies, and TV shows. To make a long story short…. Jordan and Jake are both geeks
Tech news:
- Have you seen the new Microsoft ads? In response to the hugely popular “I’m a PC – I’m a Mac” commercials from Apple, Microsoft has released several new ads…. that impress… and confuse our hosts:
- Ad: Jerry Seinfield and Bill Gates – Number 1 – Number 2 The new ad: “I’m a PC!”
- The question has to be asked, are our hosts Mac, PCs…. or both? Jordan and Jake talk about their operating system preferences and invite you to call in and with your questions about the great OS debate
- Internet radio, a service that allows you to listen to custom streaming music stations, is under fire from the music industry. Jordan and Jake give us a quick definition and demonstration of internet radio and then go on to talk about a recent bill passed through congress that will save internet radio. Software Review – Google Chrome:
Jordan talks about Google’s newly released Chrome web browser, he loves the easy to use interface and the super fast webpage loading – just wish it was available for the Mac. Download it here
Caller – Billy – TV Tuner for PC:
Billy just bought a Pinnacle PCI TV Tuner – this product allows you to watch live TV on your PC and even record content, just like your DVR. Billy hasn’t received the product yet and wants to know what we think. Our answer? TV tuners are a great way to get more out of tech you already have – often way cheaper than paying for a DVR from the cable company. This is the product Billy purchased
Video Game Review – Star Wars The Force Unleashed:
Jake loves the newest Star Wars game – The Force Unleashed. If you’re a star wars fan, this is worth getting even just to watch the story. The perfect game for the Star Wars family. Billy calls us back to talk about playing this game on his iPhone. He’s not very impressed.
Tech Tip – Jake’s building a new computer:
Jordan lays out the different components that make up a computer using a clever office analogy. Jake follows with the specifications of a new system he is building, and our hosts bring up the classic question – should you build a computer or buy a prebuilt. Jake likes to build his own, but most people need to stick with a prebuilt simply because it’s way less confusing. Be sure to do your homework before you buy however, make sure you get the right system for you. Now sure what to get? Give us a call!
Jake’s computer specs:
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0ghz
- RAM: 2gb DDR2
