Tech discussion/caller – Jordan and Jake talk with caller Sarah about children and technology:

Jordan has been out of town on business in DC for the past two weeks. While stuck in the middle of snow-maggedon, Jordan spent time with family in the Alexandria area including his two cousins (a 6 and 8 year old girl). What amazed Jordan the most was their fluency and understanding of their dad’s iPhone. Jordan and Jake discuss how children are adapting to new and easier to use consumer electronics – and are later joined by mom blogger/TV host Sarah Pinnix who adds her parental opinion to the discussion. Our conclusion? As long as the kids can use the classics (a jump rope – finger paint – a pencil and paper) – technology can be a welcome learning tool.

Tech Review – Social media services roundup

Jake and Jordan give you the lowdown on the latest, greatest, and most talked about web services. Jake talks about the location based social media service Foursquare. Jordan notes the danger in using services that give you geographical location (as demonstrated by the controversial PleaseRobMe). Jordan gives the scoop on the hot new Chat Roulette. Jordan and Jake also discuss their thoughts on the new Google Buzz service.

Caller – David – What format are iTunes TV shows in?:

David wants to know if he can play his iTunes purchased TV show episode on devices other than his iPod or iTunes enabled computer. Jordan explains that iTunes TV shows and movies are in a protected format that will only work with Apple software and hardware.

After many many months of speculation and rumors (going all the way back to the beginning of our show) – Apple has finally released the highly anticipated touchscreen tablet – dubbed the iPad. Jordan and Jake give their thoughts on the device.
